Description
Surf Panorama 96" x 24"
Price: $1300.00
Description: Surf (Outer Banks) was produced with a view camera using a large format digital back. This method guarantees sharpness and color dynamics superior to any other form of imaging (see detail in the crop images).
The Better Light scanning back is our principle imaging tool. There is no other device in the digital world that could create this image. This panorama, taken at dawn on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, is a test of image quality that no other equipment could pass. With large clear fields, tonal transition is critical and stitching software would not work. There are, however, unique artifacts in this type of image capture which we have shown in the detail image. The odd splash, going in the opposite direction from the scanning array, becomes tri-colored as it is imaged by the three color sensors. Please look closely at the detail image provided. This is the digital equivalent of the old film motion blur.
We try, in each of our photographs, to exploit the Z axis to give the image maximum depth. Our color judgements are made with a daylight light source.
This numbered edition 96"x 24" giclee print is signed by the photographer. It is an archival quality print produced on an Epson printer using pigment based UltraChrome inks which have been acceleration tested for an expected color fastness of 100 years. The image size on the 96" x 24" paper is 86" x 16" providing a generous white border suitable for self matting. Other sizes are available upon request.
We will ship this print rolled on a tube packaged in a box. Special care should be taken to avoid damage. The frame shop you select would be the best place to unroll the print.
